Sun Valley, Idaho has been a winter playground for the rich and famous and a training ground for Olympic ski teams since the 1930s. And that’s when it hit me. We weren’t just marketing luxury real estate. We were offering a piece of history.
A PIECE OF HISTORY
Hemingway, Clark Gable and Marilyn Monroe. They all swooshed the slopes here at Sun Valley. But to many, it was the lesser known stars of Alpine skiing, like Buddy Werner, Andrea Meade Lawrence and Phil Mahre that helped put it on the map as one of the best Alpine ski resorts in the world. So when developers had the opportunity to turn a nearby abandoned silver mine into a sustainable development overlooking the valley, my team and I developed a brand and marketing campaign centered around the history and allure of this alpine skiing mecca.
multi-channel ad CAMPAIGN
Primarily a regional print media campaign, we developed a series of ads titled, "Higher Living in the land of Legends" for Sun Valley Magazine and other local and regional market publications. The Independence website served as the central hub for promotional events, press releases and scheduling tour requests.
The development listing agent, Sotheby's hosted a number of exclusive, invitation-only events including snowmobile and helicopter tours of the Independence Mountain site.
